This lane is a wonderful little walk to Malham Tarn. The house and the shapes of the tree branches meant I couldn’t walk past without making a picture to take home.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a fantastic place to visit. You could easily spend a day meandering around the exhibits and installations, and its FREE!

Derwent Water, Borrowdale
The sun setting behind Catbells giving us a wonderful sky. This is in the south east corner of the valley.

Wastwater from the Screes
This is my interpretation of this famous and much loved view of Wastwater from the south-west end. Glad I went there to capture the image but the weather forced us to run for cover! Well, that’s the Lake District for you.

Evening Pier
This pier is on Derwentwater and looks really serene in the evening after all the canoeists have packed up and left.

Grasses . . . and Blencathra too!
I shot this from the bottom end of Derwentwater in Borrowdale. It’s one of my favourite places to visit. I like the textures and colours of the grasses and as a bonus managed to get Blencathra (a.k.a Saddleback) into the shot too.

Castle Bolton
Castle Bolton stands looking out accross the wide Wensleydale valley and its dominant position can be seen from the main road between Leyburn and Hawes. The views from the top of the castle, and indeed from the gardens, are just fabulous and well worth a visit. You could combine your time here with a visit to Aysgarth Falls just down the road from the castle.

Little Quacker
I took this picture at Studley Royal Deer Park/Fountains Abbey in north Yorkshire. I was stalking some swans waiting for some wing beating but nothing happened!

This tree has been completely cut down to a stump, but it has sprouted a branch and lives on! The branch reminded me of a bonsai tree. I really don’t think this tree has been pollarded, I think it has been cut down maybe due to its condition.

I don’t know what this flower is, it is very small and is growing out of stonework in the river bank. I shot it using a macro lens which gave me the really shallow depth of field and provide an overall ‘soft’ look.
