I was on a weekend photography trip with a couple of friends up in Northumberland and we found ourselves on the beach just to the north of Bamburgh Castle. We spent an hour there shooting the castle from various positions. After a few dozen shots and not really satisfied with my efforts I turned and looked at the dunes as the sun was going down behind them and I saw what was my favourite shot of the day. It was very windy and I thought about a slow shutter speed to catch the movement in the grasses but the image is so minimalistic that the subject of the shot, the grasses, had to be in focus. With the grasses blurred it didn’t work . . . . for me.
That really is a stunning shot. I can see how it could be out a castle. 🙂

Nice shot! I agree, the grass needed to be in focus – it’s all about the light, and the lines. Lovely!
Thank you, glad you like it.
